MEDWAY, MAINE - Pattagumpus Cemetery
The previous generation:
William Henry Harrison Leavitt 1815-1888 & Martha Ann Melvin 1815-1874; probably died in Medway. In 2017, Cousin Bill Chesley tramped through the woods to find the graveyard again in Pattagumpus Plantation, now part of Medway, very grown up. 4th-great-gransdon Bill took these photos.
1. Pattagumpus area. 2. Martha A. wife of ...... Leavitt, Died June 9, 1874 ...
Very tough shape. Hopefully someone can safely clean the stone enough to read it. Bill said no stone was found for William.

MEDWAY, MAINE - Pine Tree Cemetery "Boot Hill"
Thomas Franklin Leavitt Sept. 23, 1845-Aug. 3, 1908; wife, Rebecca S. Archer, April 5,1840-Jan. 21, 1908. Father and Mother on top of stones. Photo sent to me by cousin Bill Chesley. Bill says: His brother Charles is buried in Howland (see above), and his sister, Louisa Clark York is probably buried in Brownville, where she died in 1907. Louisa and her first husband, Samuel Lewis Clark, are my gr. gr. gr grandparents. There was another Martha Leavitt who married Daniel Twist, Jr. and lived at Pattagumpus. They too are buried in the Pine Tree Cemetery. I believe that she was the youngest daughter of Harrison and Martha Leavitt.
