VERMONT LEAVITT CEMETERIES

LEAVITT Gravestones in Vermont.
EAST BARNARD, WINDSOR COUNTY, VERMONT
Photos taken at our 2012 Leavitt Reunion. Nehemiah line.
The East Barnard Cemetery is diagonally across the road from the Community Hall.  The town neighbors South Royalton and Pomfret.  Click on photos to enlarge them.
Photos by Roland Rhoades except a couple by Ray Thomas.
Amos Leavitt Sr 1777-1828 was born in Raymond NH and came to Royalton as a child. He drowned when he fell from the stringers of a bridge in Royalton that had washed out...trying to get home.  His body was not recovered, hence no gravestone.  His wife Hannah Sleeper moved to Hodgdon Maine where she died in 1864.  Many of his descendants are buried here.
