Welcome to the website of the National Association of Leavitt Families
"If your name is Leavitt or one of your ancestors was named Leavitt, you are very probably a descendant of John Leavitt of Hingham or Thomas Leavitt of Hampton"
CAN YOU IDENTIFY THE PEOPLE IN THE PHOTO? Let us know.
“There are three types of people in this world:
The Leavitts, people who marry Leavitts, and people who wish they were Leavitts.”
So says Richard Franklin Leavitt of Maine (1939-2018, Israel Leavitt line.)

The National Association of Leavitt Families, Inc. is an organization formed in 1934 with the objective of promoting acquaintance and good fellowship among the living descendants of immigrant John Leavitt, who settled in the section of the New England Colonies now known as Hingham, MA in 1636; and immigrant Thomas Leavitt, who settled in the section now known as Hampton, NH in 1639; and to establish such memorials to their name and memory as may be most appropriate. REUNION 2021
The Covid Pandemic has done it again. We cannot risk the lives of our members, many of them elderly, with an in-person reunion in Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith NH. We will try again in June 2022. We are now planning a virtual gathering on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 via Zoom. While meeting in person is much better, this does hold some exciting possibilities. Leavitts from everywhere can attend, who otherwise may never have been able to. Not computer-proficient? Ask your younger generation to Zoom with you and get them interested. We are also looking for someone Zoom-proficient to help us make this work. Please stay tuned and click the page below for further information. |
Above are the father and son proprietors of "A. C. Leavitt & Son" of Laconia, N.H. Who were they? Read more about them in our Leavitt Photo Archive blog: HERE
