NALF REUNION 2017  -  YORK, MAINE
was held Friday & Saturday, September 8 & 9, 2017

MORE EXCITING YORK ATTRACTIONS:

This didn't fit in the August newsletter:
There are Lots of things to do for people coming from away who want to spend a few days, besides the historical attractions. Here are Nancy’s suggestions as someone who lives in York.
From the south, the York exit is the LAST exit before the toll on I-95.  It's Exit 7.  One might mention the sandy beaches here in York [especially Long Sands Beach], the seafood eateries that are everywhere and York's Wild Kingdom at York Beach.  They have some amusement rides and a nice zoo with lots of pretty neat animals.  Worth the time.  A person could spend a whole weekend here and not see it all.  The Goldenrod Restaurant/Store at York Beach has the original salt water taffy making machine operating in their window so you don't even have to go in to watch the candy being made.  Of course, once you see it in action you just have to go in.  They have every day American food and home-made ice cream.  My favorite is Checkerberry Chip.  You won't find that in too many places.  We also have Mt Agamenticus with beautiful views from the top, a fire tower you can climb and walking trails including handicap trails.  There is also a very successful, and growing, wildlife refuge and rehab center where one can visit.  Lots of art galleries and museums too.  Besides the historical buildings in the village.
The 2017 Reunion write-up was provided by our Reunion Coordinator, Frances Woodin.
